This type of stuff is so rediculous. Obviously, if it is real, it is loooooong way from completion. If it is fake, then who cares.

Judging what a game is going to be like when it is so far from being finished is like asking a 12 year old what his wife will look like at 50; it makes no sence and doesn't mean anything.

I remember looking at PS3 screenshots a year ago and thinking they look pretty good, but when I saw them in motion, it was a whole differnet world. ...

Everyone should realize that most of these "big" titles (Resistance, Assassin's Creed, and even Lair) start development for part 2 before part 1 is even finished. With the long development times of modern games, the only way they can get a sequel out in a timely fashion is to start early. Most games today take up to 3 years (or longer in some cases) to develop. Very few franchises give their sequels the absolute and proper attention they should get; they would rather cash in while t...

I went on the EB site recently (a week or two ago) and found out they were taking preorders on Guitar Hero III for PS3 for its early January release.

What?!? You mean it's out already!?!

Bad source material.

wasn't all the information in this article released weeks ago.

I was expecting something new with "details announced".

Yup, another example of parents acting stupid and us gamers taking the flack. Any one who thinks this is no big deal is sadly mistaken.
Yes, you can find, see and hear worse on the internet, movies and TV, but the sad truth of the matter is video games are the only form of media right now with a big bullseye on its back.
Jack Thompson is only one (and granted the most extreme) of the public figures trying to ban game content. Hilary Clinton, a presidential candidate, is also in...

Including a playstation, not exclusively a playstation!
Electronics are the most valuable things in most households, that's why people go for those first.

Sad story though.

Great info! Appreciate the help.

Will all this come on disc or do I have get it through the internet.
I don't have broadband at home so I would have to drag my system to work to download it. Really don't want to have to do that. Any info would be helpful.

It's one screen! Present polygon games are running at 60 fps in many cases. How much faster can they be? Any faster and the human eye can't even react!

If it was kept as a sprite-based 2D fighter, everyone would say it's not innovative enough; not progressing the series. Then they do something to mix it up, and people say why mess with what worked!

I think we need to wait and see before we can throw around too many opinions, except that this is exciting news and...

but my point is the only time you see a serious game report is on sites that are only designed for and seen by gamers. In the public eye, WE are a joke, and this only supports that idea by making fun of what they (the prosecutor and their followers) feel is a serious issue. We, as knowledgable gamers, know the list was out of date and foolish, but they take it very seriously and have the general public's ear.
I would rather see a list of game's that are good for children released by a ...

I was starting to think people with "opposing" systems weren't allowed to agree with each other on this site!
I'm not sure what they expect to happen. "Oh, he says the PS3 sux. I better not buy it; since that is such a logical argument!"
If I could afford both, I would have both. Enjoy your 360 and the great games it has. Have fun, that's the point.

EDIT - I love that I have disagrees on both my comments. What exactly are you disagreeing with?...

Why, every time there is a problem with a game or console, does the comment board turn into a "see, I told you my system can beat up your system" argument. I've had AC freeze on me five times, and have almost got it beat, no big deal. Restart, and play.

Zhuk, you seem to forget that Sony's machines are always hard to program for out of the gate. Developers made this complaint with each of the Sony machines, but who won the last two console wars? And from what I've rea...

So you don't think good competition is healthy for the video game market? You say you would like to see MS and Nintendo drop out leaving only Sony to have a monopoly OR Apple eat up Sony's dev and battle it out with MS? Isn't the Apply / MS battle outside of video games big enough? Does it need to spill over into the consoles as well?

As far as Sony winning the last two gens of consoles and smiling, well, yeah, I would too! But I think they are a far cry from getting "read...

This is the type of immature crap that these anti-game / ignorant organizations and people feed off of. It makes gamers look like a bunch of stupid children that can't make a serious argument as to why video games are just a hobby and not a "threat to society". Bad move!

As gamers, we need representation from our own to give logical arguments, not childish rhetoric that can be used as even more ammunition against us!

Man, it would be great to have another platform choice. More options equals more competition equals more great games. A four way console battle would be amazing!

I'm not sure if Sega has the financial muscle to enter the fight right now (it hasn't been THAT long since they dropped from the hardware market) and their games haven't exactly been the super popular big sellers that pull in the huge profits to finance this sort of move. A team up with Apple would be huge! We'll see. ...

Most of these complaints aren't in the hands of the employees or employers.
* The comment guy (always there and always annoying - last time I went there was one that I couldn't even identify his/her sex - creepy!!!) and the pokeman kid (parent and child should be carried into the street and shot) are customers - out of the stores hands.
* Mandatory "sups", well that's company policy in any store to greet their customer, although "sup" and "dog" is v...

These are people with power and influence. They are the people who can put a choke hold on our hobby. They don't understand it, and don't want to. I agree that children shouldn't play these games, but what about the movies they watch or websites they browse?

Why just games? Because there is no one there to defend them. No high powered lawyer or politician is going to stand up and say these reports are wrong. Gamers have no representation. We need to start taking this stuff ser...

This is the forth "video game violence" article I have responded to today. I am amazed by the lack of responsibility that parents and politicians take for the state of our society.

I won't continue to rant on this subject, because I will just be repeating what I said in my other postings, however, I am concerned about the lack of comments being made about these so-called scientific studies.

Gamers better stand up and be noticed, otherwise we're going to...

I agree with your comment about role models. I think the big issue is the lack there of. We live in a society where firemen are arsonists, police are arrested for stealing drugs from the impound and politicians are doing time for embezzlement, bribes, and sexual depravity.

Where are the parents who are supposed to be raising their children - teaching them right from wrong?
Why does the media glorify the sociopaths that shoot up their schools, thus turning them into heroe...

I have to agree with you, and it also poses another question.

Where's the list telling parents not to buy the MOVIE 300, Resident Evil, The Godfather, Scarface and Hitman or telling them not to buy 50 Cent's MUSIC!!!

Nope, no such list exists. Video games = Politicians latest scapegoat!
